Voices from the Eyrie – 58 – Eye of the Storm

We sit down with Greg Weisman to discuss the journey the Eye of Odin made as a MacGuffin introduced in the Sega Genesis game, being brought into the series as a trinket, then revealed to have magical powers… all the way to introducing Odin, himself. We discuss adapting the Norse god into “Gargoyles”, his wisdom along with his hubris; when Loki was briefly considered and why he ultimately wasn’t used. The inadvertent Kirby influence. We talk about just how cunning Angela is in the face of making Goliath the villain for the episode as absolute power corrupts absolutely. And much more!

We also discuss our guest cast: Morgan Sheppard, Cam Clarke, and J.D. Daniels who was a talented child actor and a stalwart for the show.

We make the news rounds as we talk about the upcoming crossovers between “Gargoyles” and Marvel’s First Family” the Fantastic Four (speaking of Kirby!)! Whether or not its canon, how the two properties differ and fit! And what is sure to be a good time.

And, of course, First Impressions of “Gargoyles: Demona #0” where we are joined by Frank Paur, as well! Spoilers: 12:30 to 24:25.
